Besides this health benefits, saffron has also been used in the production of many beauty products over the ages. One of the reason for this is because saffron has anti-inflammatory properties, which works against aging, eczema, dead skin, etc.
Saffron for Acne Treatment
Saffron has antibacterial and antiseptic properties, and as a result can fight off acne and pimples, thereby providing for a youthful glowing skin. Saffron not only clears acne scars and inflammation, but also minimizes the oil secreted by the sebaceous glands. You can prepare a facial mask by mixing saffron powder, lemon juice and sandalwood powder together. Apply on your face and dry off after 10 min. For acne scar removal, mix saffron and plain water together, apply to the affected areas and wash off after 15 min.
Saffron for Aging
Saffron is a good exfoliating agent and therefore can help remove signs of aging on the skin. To make a paste, mix saffron together with besan (gram flour) and water. Then apply it on your body and let it dry off. Afterwards, wash off with lukewarm water.
Saffron for Wrinkles
Saffron when combined with other ingredients is very effective against wrinkles and fine lines. To prepare a facial mask, mix rice powder, saffron powder, tomato juice with raw milk and apply on your neck and face. Wash off with lukewarm water after several minutes. For dark circles around the eye, add 2 tbsp of buttermilk to a pinch of saffron and apply around your eyes. Wash off with cool water after 20 min.
Saffron as Night Cream
To use saffron as night cream, make a paste by mixing yoghurt, milk and saffron together. Apply on your face and leave overnight. Then wash off with a light cleanser in the morning. Or just mix a pinch of saffron with your moisturizer and then clean off in the morning. You may want to do this at least twice a week for younger and beautiful looking skin.
Saffron for Stretch Marks
Saffron can be very effective against stretch marks. To make a paste, mix saffron with besan and raw milk, and apply on the affected areas.
Saffron for Facial Hair Removal
Make a facial scrub by mixing chickpea (gram flour) together with kasturi saffron and apply on your face. This will prevent the growth of facial hair. Apply regularly for up to one month for effective results.
Saffron for Skin Tanning and Skin Pigmentation
Saffron is very effective against pigmentation and tanning. To make a paste, mix saffron powder together with cucumber juice or lemon and apply on the affected area. Then, wash off with plain water after 20 min. You will have to repeat this regularly if you want effective results.
Saffron for Cracked Heels
If you have cracked heels, then apply a mixture of few drops of castor oil or coconut oil and 3.5 table spoon of saffron on the affected heels for around 10 min. before your bath. This can help soften your hills when done on a regular basis.
Saffron for Skin Conditions
Saffron is a natural antiseptic agent, and as such is effective against skin conditions such as ivy, poison, psoriasis and eczema, etc. when mixed with milk.
