Try these 3 tasty saffron drinks this summer

In the summer days, drinking a cool, refreshing drink can help you find relief from the heat.

There are many types of ingredients in a cold drink. Among them, saffron, which targets mood-related factors can boost your mood and energy during a hot summer day.

Here, we collected 3 must-try refreshing non-alcoholic drinks with saffron.

A Lemonade Concentrate with saffron and Cardamom

An old ancient sherbet from an oriental culture, it is a great choice to quench your thirst in a hot summer day.

A lemonade that is infused with saffron and cardamom can also be a great fit for a Sunday family gathering in the backyard.

Prep: 20 min

Serving: -


  1. Dissolve the sugar in water on medium heat. When the sugar gets brown, lower the heat to get light amber color. Simmer the liquid once it dissolved and set it aside.
  2. Add saffron and cardamom and let it cool.
  3. Add in lemon juice and mix.
  4. Strain in a bottle and keep it in the fridge.


  • 8 Golden Saffron treads
  • 1/2 tsp green cardamom powder
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/5 cups sugar

A royal lemonade

This royal lemonade infused with saffron, ginger, and mint is a refreshing and energizing non-alcoholic drink to boost your mood and energy during a hot summer day.

You can also drink it with lovely little kiddoes at a family gathering.

Prep: 15 min

Serving: 3


  1. Add 200 ml water, saffron, ginger, and sugar to a pan on medium heat and let it boil.
  2. You may need to stir occasionally to ensure it does not burn.
  3. When sugar is dissolved, remove it from the heat and let it cool down.
  4. Add the rest of the water and wait for 10 minutes.
  5. Put ice cubes in a glass, and add the mixture, lemon juice, and mint leaves to it.
  6. Garnish with saffron threads.


  • 2 pinch saffron
  • 6-7 mint leaves
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 lemons
  • 8 tsp sugar
  • 1 liter water

Iced Saffron Tea with Peach and Basil

One of the healthiest choices for a family gathering on a hot summer day is iced saffron tea.

The combination old, oriental earthy aroma of Golden Saffron and the sweet, tropical taste of peach can make your day.

First Step

  1. Put the tea bags in a large cup and pour the hot water into it.
  2. Add (grated) saffron to the cup and mix. Allow them to steep together for at least 12 min.
  3. Then discard the tea bags. Add the wild honey and mix it well.

Second Step

  1. Combine half of the sliced pitches and basil leaves in a pitcher..
  2. Add some ice and vanilla extract and pour in rooibos saffron tea.
  3. Top off with some filtered water and more ice. Garnish with saffron strands.


  • 1 pinch saffron
  • 1 sliced (yellow) peach
  • 4 rooibos teabags
  • 5 springs fresh Genoese basil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups of hot water
  • 1 small lemon (juiced)
  • Ice cubes
  • 4-8 tbsp wild honey
  • 6-8 cups cold water
  • 4 Golden Saffron strands for garnish
